License End Dates: Setting the Standard

A VLA teacher recently shared with me a strategy that he uses to keep students on track to complete coursework before their license end dates. He reminds them of their license end dates, but he takes it one step further. He also figures out for them how many units they need to complete in order to finish a course before that end date.

Sure, students could look at a calendar and figure that out for themselves. But they probably wouldn't. This teacher has made the completion timeline much more concrete by simply telling students how much weekly work is required of them to finish on time.
